This challenge with the Stampers Corner Yahoo Group was to make a NonPaper ATC. I used grungeboard and stamped on it with acrylic paint using a Stampers Anonymous stamp. The important thing to remember if you do stamp with acrylic paint, gesso or gel medium is to wash your stamp off ASAP otherwise you might ruin it since the "stuff" will dry and stick to it forever. After the paint was dry I used Ranger Distress Inks then wiped off the part that was on the paint since it acts as a resist. The big embellishment is from K&Co Life's Journey series. The next step was to use a clear tag by Heidi Swapp. I colored the back of it with a silver Galaxy Marker. They don't bleed up on acrylic surfaces like other markers. I stamped on the front using StazOn with a stamp by Inque and secured it to the ATC using some silver mini ric-rac and then outlined the ATC with a Krylon marker.

Rainy Day ATC
This ATC for the Altered Designs Yahoo group had the theme of Rainy Day. I used a Tim Holtz designed Stampers Anonymous stamp that I stamped on acetate with StazOn. The base of the card is glossy cardstock that I sprayed with various watercolors. I stamped and embossed with clear ink a stamp by Studio G that says April Showers and has an umbrelly (it's hard to see in the scan). I also had a rain cloud stamp by Studio G that I used on the top. The final touch was the addition of a few rain dot embellishments that we sent to me a while back as a RAK (random act of kindness) by a fellow stamper.

Elvis on an anniversary card?
Yup it's "The King" on an anniversary card. I used specialty paper by EK Success and a stamp by The Stampsmith that I stamped on glossy paper with StazOn. But why Elvis? Well, if you open the card it says "You Rock My World", a stamp by Inque. The card was from me to hubby.
The longer I'm married the younger I was when I got married. After all if I stay 29 and I've been married 28 years I was just a year when we got married....

Vintage School Days ATC
Here's an ATC I made for a Stampers Corner Yahoo group mingle with the theme of Vintage School Days. The stamps I used are all by TJ Designs. I used a combination of Ranger Distress Inks and Adirondak Dye Inks. For the shrink plastic I used StazOn in Timber Brown.

Triangle ATCs
Sid and I decided to do a Traingle ATC swap for the months of September and October. We both had too much stuff going on so I suggested we just extend our deadline. He came up with the theme of triangle. He said to measure halfway across the top and then cut to the bottom two edges. ATC's are small enough to begin with (2 1/2 x 3 1/2") so I was feeling very constrained in what I could create in this small space. I finally decided on famous triangles so I chose the Bermuda Triangle for the top one. I used a map that just happened to come in the mail from an organization that was soliciting donations. The top stamp is from Craft Secrets and the destination stamp is from Royal Langnickel as are the two embellishments. They were stamped on shrink plastic with StazOn and then heated with a heat gun to shirk to their current size. I used Ranger Distress Inks to color over the map after stamping the top compass stamp and embossing with clear powder.
The next one is Isosceles. I made the name of the triangle into a Greek God since the word has Greek origins. I ripped out portions of different dictionaries that had isosceles or triangle definitions. I used a stamped with brown ink on a stamp by Non Sequitur to represent Isosceles and embossed with clear powder. I colored in with Ranger Distress Inks to show the image better and then added a charm of the Parthenon.
The last one is called Love Triangle and has a base of marbled paper. I stamped a few words and hearts with Brilliance Inks first. Then I lined up the words "he", "she", "him" and her using Just Rite stamps and stamped them with VersaMark ink and stamped with detail white powder. I had recently purchased a Stamp-a-ma-Jig by EK Success and it worked great. There is no way I could line up these on the paper and have it be even. I stamped three times so that made it more difficult.Until my next post,

Altered Designs TGIF Paris ATC - two for the price of one

I recently did two Paris ATCs so I wanted this one to be different. On top of my brown base layer I used a piece of patterned paper from the Travel stack by DCWV. I used the world clocks by 100 Proof Press and stamped with StazOn on clear vellum. The final touch was cutting out two quotes from the paper and raising them up with pop dots.
Just in case you were wondering, my internet translators say, joie de vivre means "love of life" in English and c'est la vie means " that's life. Two semesters of college French and I can't remember much except for counting from 1 to 10.
So here's the thing...I actually did the second one first, at least part of it. I painted over the paper with a thin coat of gesso. After it dried I used the same stamp but stamped directly on the paper. I used Glossy Accents to highlight the Paris time. I knew it was supposed to dry clear but for some reason I was uncomfortable with the way this was going to turn out so I made the one above. After things dried I finished it and then added the embellishments and background paper. I think I like the one on the bottom better, what do you all think? Let me know.

Games ATC

I didn't do the mingle ATC swaps with Stampers Corner when they first came out-- I took a little break. Lately though I've been participating quite a bit. It is a bit easier to do just one than a group of four. I felt I had to take the envelope to the post office to ensure I had enough postage. Now you just make one and send it directly to your partner. I think I like that better. This one was made with a Tim Holtz stamp by Stampers Anonymous on semi gloss paper. Then I lined up the bingo chips and stamped them with StazOn. I adhered them with glossy accents then added a black backing that I outlined with a Gold Deco marker.

Playing with air again

Here's another card I made using the new Brights alcohol inks from Ranger and the compressed air technique by Tim Holtz. The base stamp and the sentiment are from Impression Obsession. I stamped the sentiment on flowered vellum using StazOn and adhered it with my Xyron. I added a double strand of ric-rack for a final touch.

Diane
