By the Sea was the theme for a Stampers Corner Yahoo Group ATC lottery. I trimmed the edges off a bunch of sea shell die cuts and glued them to a backing piece of paper. On top of that I created a glaze using craft paint and Gloden Acrylic Glazing Liquid to try to blend the colors a bit more and also color the background. The image is from a Design Originals ATC booklet called Travel. I also used the smaller shells from that book and covered them with some Glossy Accents for dimension. The two small shells in the lower left corner were made by stamping Tanda stamps on shrink plastic and reducing it in size with a heat gun.

Travel by Motor Stage card
Here's a card I sent with an ATC swap recently. I used some more of the Life's Journey paper by K&Co. I used some textured paper as a faux ribbon and added an embellishment from the same paper line. I finished off the piece with a stamped image by Tanda.

Happy Fathers Day
Here's the card I made for my Father-in-law for Dad's day. I started with a bubble wrap stamped background. I used Woodlawn a handmade Ranger Adirondak ink pad. The stamp of the man is by Tanda and the shoes and phrase are by Crafty Secrets.

Masculine ATC
Was it Peary or Cook that was the first to the North Pole? I'm not sure. I do have Cook's book but haven't read it yet but I have read a bunch of other books on North and South Pole adventures. My real polar hero is Ernest Shackleton; he'd be on my short list if I had to pick a few folks from the past to spend an evening with.
Anyway, the theme for a recent TGIF ATC at the Altered Arts Yahoo Group was masculine. I used a stamp advertising Peary's book by Tanda and another stamp by 100 Proof press on this ATC. I added a Tim Holtz embellishment with the word Courageous.
Regardless if he was the first to get to the North Pole or not the undertaking was courageous indeed.

Old train card
Here's another card I made using the K&Co Life's Journey collection. The background paper is a collage of ticket stubs with went great with a Tanda Stamp I had. I used an dimensional embellishment from the K&Co collection and then used a Fiskars corner punch to finish off the card.

Writing Instruments ATC
The theme for this Stamper's Corner ATC was Writing Instruments. I started with more of the marbled paper and added a stamped image by Stamper Anonymous. The foreground image is by Tanda as is the ink bottle. I made the ink bottle by stamping on shrink plastic and heating it with my heat gun.

Tanda Stamps ATC swap

Here's the latest ATC's I did with Sid in the UK. This month I got to pick the theme and I chose that we do the three ATC's with Tanda Stamps. I had seen something he had done on his blog and he used their stamps. I took a look and really liked the product -- BUT -- at the time the dollar/pound ratio was really bad. I was patient and waited until things got better - much better. I was also able to take advantage of free shipping and now I'm the proud owner of Advert Plates 1-4. The first on the left was made with a stamp from Advert Plate #3. The background paper is from the Travel Stack by DCWV. The one in the middle is done with stamps from Advert Plate #1. I can't remember where I got the big digital image from but I printed that our as the focal point. The "Sunny Dorset" stamp is from Advert Plate #4. I colored in the image using Prismacolor markers. They are alcohol based like the Copics which are the rage but can't be refilled.

Stampers Corner ATCOTM Babies
This month our theme for the ATC of the month at Stampers Corner was "babies". I don't have any stamps for that so I got a download of an image from the Graphics Fairy. There are some great images there and they are free. That is tied for my favorite four letter word -- the other being "sale". Anyway I used some scrap papers and Ranger Distress Inks to make them look old. The stamp is from Tanda Stamps a UK company that makes some nice images. I waited and waited until the dollar was competitive with the pound then was able to take advantage of free shipping AND a sale. What more can you ask for? I used an image the seemed to combine with the clip art, tonic and pills. Hope the recipient likes it.Until my next post,

Paint Effects ATC

Here's another mingle ATC I did for my Stampers Corner Yahoo group. This theme was Paint Effects. I used a series of walnut ink washes in different strengths then added a bit of salt and walnut ink crystals while it was wet. The salt acts as a resist and the walnut ink crystals act like a sponge absorbing the dark color. I also added a bit of Fiber Scraps e-z Walnut Ink Tintz in Brick, Lime and Denim. On top of that I added a homemade glaze of Golden Titan buff mixed with Polymer Medium. I then added some more Fibre Scraps Tintz in a dry brush technique. The final steps were a spray of Glimmer Mists in Iridescent Gold and Pearl followed by an outline of Krylon 18K gold on the edges. The stamped image from Tanda Stamps is on vellum.
