Bottom and top background papers and the sentiment on this card are from a Hot off the Press card kit called Spun Sugar. The circle, flourish and butterfly are from my stash.

Wishes are magic card

I used to go to all the local craft and stamp shows. I also went to some of these longer retreat type events. Many people that went to things like that would either make ATC's or gather their scraps and give them away. I did too. The multi striped background of this card is a piece of paper I got from one of these shows. It had been hanging around for years and I finally found a use for it. the other two tan colored papers were left over from some other card project. I can't remember when or where I hade this tag but I decided they all went together so I created this card.

Best Wishes Card

Here's a card I made using some left over scraps from and unknown collection. I had the Best Wishes greeting from a pack of 5-6 sentiments and thought it coordinated well.

Wish card

Here's a card I made using paper and (most of the) embellishments from Melissa Frances. The paper is from the 5th Avenue collection. My additions was the gold trim and the Silhouette "wish" cutout.

You are a treat card

Here's another card I made from the Shape It CD by Technique Junkies. I made a few changes. I decided to use a real straw and just cut it. I used far less bubbles than theirs and somehow my measurements were off so instead of two I have three panels on the glass part of the card.

Happy Anniversary

This is the last of three card I used from the Spun Sugar card kit by Hot off the Press. I added the pearl flourish and also the single pearls on the green paper flourish. I also tried to maximize my use of the paper so I added the patterned paper to a brown background paper. the pink/mauve paper with the intelligible handwriting also came from my stash. It's actually from an ATC kit.

Take time to smell the coffee

Here's a card I made for a birthday Using the Technique Junkie Newsletter Shape it CD. I've had this CD for a while but had it in a place I don't often look. I was looking for something else and rediscovered the great card ideas and decided to use one. I couldn't find my paper crimper but happened to have some corrugated cardboard and used that instead.

The stamps are a combo of Hero Arts and Impression Obsession.

Youth is the gift of nature card #2

It's difficult to see with this scan but I used my score pal to create a diagonal pattern and then used an old stamp set from See Dee's. This is the same sentiment as last weeks card.

Youth is the gift of nature card #1

I'm using this sentiment stamp in next weeks post as well. I've had this card minus the sentiment for quite a while and needed a quick card so I used my Tim Holtz Tonic stamp positioner and it's an easy peasy card.

Age is not important card

I've had this flowered focal point for a while. I think I made it at a card show as a demo. It's a simple stamped image that I colored in. After that I added some tiny clear pebble beads so there's a texture to it. Anyway I needed a quick card and it was easy to work with.

For You card

Like last weeks card I've had this marbled background for quite a while. I used an Art Gone Wild Bisous Zoo stamp and then added the embellishment/tag to finish the card.

TV and cookies card

The background stamp on this card is from Hero Arts but I can't remember who made the sentiment stamp. The other embellishments are odds and ends I had hanging around. This card is for a guy so I wanted a bit of a rustic look to it.

Love card

I saw this technique on the Club Scrap blog and decided to give it a try. I used the reinkers I had on hand with some basic string. I used the clean up rag on the edges for an accent and finished the card with a Hero Arts stamp.

Happy Birthday card

Here's a card I made using papers and embellishments from Cosmo Cricket. The stamp is from Hero Arts. I just bought the Tim Holtz stamping platform and tried to use it on this card. Unfortunately since I already had the double stack embellishment on the card it didn't stamp well. I took the stamp off that tool and then used an acrylic block but I didn't match it up well enough so that's why I added the yellow paper underneath. Note to self -- stamp then embellish.

Three butterflies

Here's a card I made using my Spellbinders and some ordinary embellishments. My inspiration was this post by Jennifer McGuire. Instead of a diecut I used a Spellbinders Impressabilities design. I added three ordinary butterfly embellishments that had adhesive on the back. I aligned them on one side of the card and then put some baby powder on the half that I didn't want to stick. I heard of this trick a long time ago but never needed to use it.

Living forever card

This card uses the same background paper as last weeks card. For this one I used some old Marvy Metallic markers that I thinned out with water and applied with a brush. I then added a stamped image from Inky Antics that I colored with pencils and the sentiment.

They say it's your birthday...card

Here's a card I made using my Silhouette. I downloaded a .jpg and then transformed it to a cutting file. I got this file for free from Vector Open Stock and is a Creative Commons file. I used a background stamp of some sheet music (not the Beatles) and then added the cutting file and the musical embellishment.

Happy Birthday Card

I have two cards with the same paper. The other one is posted next week. For this one I used direct to paper with dye and chalk inks. I then added some embellishments and the sentiment I had hanging around the house to finish it off. I thought I had enough of the daisy ribbon but..oops I didn't so since it was stuck on what was I to do? Well I found something else and it doesn't exactly go but hopefully it isn't too bad. Note to self: Make sure you have enough to go around before you apply the glue.

Just For You Card

Here's a card I made using a couple techniques. First I swiped a few colors of alcohol inks and let the paper dry. After that I embossed it with a Tim Holtz folder. I then swiped some black ink over the top to enhance what was embossed. I added a little tag to enhance the fact that this is a special card. I'm sending it as a birthday card.
