Clear window card

Here's a card I made in a class using papers and embellishments from SEI. The silver part on the left is crepe paper with a shiny finish. A little goes a long way since it expands when you pull on it. I'm going to use this as a birthday card for a daughter of friends of mine.

Too much, too fast + high tide = flooding

Saturday I woke to thunder and lightening. It rained most of the day, very heavy at times. High tide was late in the afternoon so that meant localized flooding. I left the house about 10am and it wasn't too bad but when I came back a little after three this is what I saw on my street. Lucky for me we have another entrance that doesn't usually flood so I was able to get home.

In my yard

The other day I came back home from riding my bike and noticed a few dragonflies in the yard. I'm not a big fan of insects except for dragonflies and butterflies. I thought to myself I wonder if this guy will hang around a few moments while I run inside and grab my camera. Lucky me, they waited and seemed to be posing. It was pretty hot and humid so the first few shots were actually foggy from the dew point difference between inside and outside. Good thing these guys had an empty social calender as they hung around long enough for me to get some good shots.

I also got an interesting shot of a spider web. Unlike the dragonflies and butterflies spiders are not on my favorite insect list but their webs can make for good photos.

Fancy pull card

This is really a very easy technique. When you pull on the tab the invisible card is revealed. There is a hidden mechanism held together with ordinary plastic grocery style bags. You don't want to use thick plastic as it won't work. The papers are from SEI. I'm going to use this card for an anniversary.

Hello card

Here's a card I made using papers and embellishments from WeR Memory Keepers. I have some cousins that just moved so the house pattern on the card fits the situation.

Just for you card

Here's a card I made in a class using SEI papers and embellishments. Everything is double sided so you get two different looks. I'm going to use this as a birthday card for a relative.

Butterfly Dazzles card

Here's a card I made for a friend that is having a birthday. I sure hope she likes pink! It's another card using papers, chipboard and Dazzles from Hot of The Press.
