Wherever you go card

Here's yet another card I made using papers and embellishments from the K& Co Life's Journey collection. The stamp is from Cloud 9 Designs.

Tie one on card

Here's a card I made using a technique that I saw online by Gina K. online. I used plain old left over blue paper and did the same technique also with London Fog color ink. Mine isn't as dark as hers but I'm happy with it nonetheless. I used Crafty Secrets stamps, cut out the designs and embossed them and added a border from Graphic 45 Proper Gentlemen paper.

Thanks card

Here's a card I made for some cousins I stayed with a few weeks ago. I used some left over papers and embellishments. I used some decorative scissors on the background piece and did a bit of outlining to highlight the edges of the papers.

Hi! card

Yet another in my cards made with materials by Hot off the press. To me these colors work well for a "guy" card, and the generic sentiment also works for a birthday card so that's how I used it. A fellow genealogist cousin had a birthday recently so I sent it to him. It's his fault I fell into the black hole of genealogy!

You can make history too

If you actually read my blog from the home page you may have noticed a few badges I have displayed about indexing. My "other" hobby that has practically overtaken my crafting is genealogy. I've been assisting with the 1940 U.S. Census Community Project. Thousands of volunteers have been transcribing what they see in various columns and rows of the 1940 census to assist fellow genealogists in their quest to learn more about their family members.

Even if you don't "do" genealogy you can help. It's really easy and a "batch" of census records can be indexed in about 1/2 hour for a beginner. Indexing the volunteers do will allow others to search for their friends and families by name, age, residence and other pieces of information.

Flower pot card

Here's a card I made in a class that has a flower pot look to it. The materials were from The-Whole-Kit-N-Kabodle. The "flower pot" stays intact and the "flowers" pull out revealing an area where you can write your greeting.

Life changes card

Here's a card I made using some extra paper from a collection by Echo Park and some left over stickers. I used a stamp by Hero Arts for the focal point. I made this card for a fellow member of the Altered Designs Yahoo Group birthday club.
