A mini sheetload of cards

Here's a little group of cards I recently made based on a pattern by Sheetload. The paper is by K&Co and it is double sided so I just alternated one of them for a slightly different look. The stamps are from the Playful Expressions set by The Paper Company.

Monochromatic TGIF ATC

There are five layers in this ATC.

Layer 1 -- White paper outlined with a Gold Krylon marker

Layer 2 -- DCWV metallic paper

Layer 3 -- Scrap paper spritzed with Ritzy Ditzy Glitz an alcohol based spray in gold

Layer 4 -- Hand made paper from India that I bought a Costco

Layer 5 -- Alternating strips of vellum colored with Brilliance Ink (Galaxy Gold) that was stamped with Scrappy Cat stamps and embossed with detail gold AND the same paper in the previous layer that had Dovercraft peal off stickers applied.

Sisters ATC Mingle

Here's an ATC I did for the Sisters ATC Mingle on the Stampers Corner Yahoo Group. The background stamp is from Impression Obsession. The image was obtained in a swap so I don't know the origin. The sticker "Sister" is from Nicole. Flower is from JoAnn and stamped with Inque stamp. Dragonfly is from SkyBluePink (I think). Didn't intended to rhyme but it did.

The Color Green ATC

I saw this technique by Tricia Morris on the Stampers Quest site earlier in the week. I decided I try it for my "The Color Green" ATC mingle with my Stampers Corner Yahoo group. I used scrap papers in four shades of green. I stamped them with Studio G $1 stamps and cut them in small strips of varying width. I used my Xyron to apply adhesive to the base layer and then applied the strips. After they were all applied I trimmed the excess and then applied this layer to the finished ATC size. The final step was a bit of layering for an embellishment I got at Michael's.

Masculine TGIF ATC

This week the theme for our Altered Designs TGIF ATC was masculine. I used stamps from Crafty Secrets (and for those of you in cyberland, yes that is yet another stamp company that I have added to my collection). The double sided paper is from Marcella.

By the way to all you Dad's out there HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!

Art Techniques Monthly Art Technique

I previously mentioned that I belong to over 20 Yahoo groups. I do most of my posting and trading with two groups but have participated a bit with a few others.

This month on the Art Techniques Yahoo group I noticed a post that peaked my interest. The monthly art technique was posted and it was real easy. Stamp on glossy cardstock with VersaMark and then use two colors of dye ink to color in your image. Now stamp again with the VersaMark but a little offset and dry partially. Sprinkle a little embossing powder and then you are done. I added a background and a small embellishment from the $1 bin at Michaels. All the stamps are from Inque.

Roses ATC

A few posts ago I mentioned that I had won the Stampers Corner ATC lottery for May. Because of that I got to keep my little Cowgirl and also won the ATC's the other folks made. My duties for winning included picking the theme for June and then selecting the winner for that month (excluding me of course). I'll use a random number generator like most people do. I chose the theme of Roses for the theme since they are the monthly flower for June. I used stamps from the Inque 262 collection stamped with waterproof ink. I used watercolor pencils to color the images in. My embellishment is a US postage stamp with a few layers in coordinating colors.

Altered Designs TGIF Paris ATC - two for the price of one

I recently did two Paris ATCs so I wanted this one to be different. On top of my brown base layer I used a piece of patterned paper from the Travel stack by DCWV. I used the world clocks by 100 Proof Press and stamped with StazOn on clear vellum. The final touch was cutting out two quotes from the paper and raising them up with pop dots.

Just in case you were wondering, my internet translators say, joie de vivre means "love of life" in English and c'est la vie means " that's life. Two semesters of college French and I can't remember much except for counting from 1 to 10.



So here's the thing...I actually did the second one first, at least part of it. I painted over the paper with a thin coat of gesso. After it dried I used the same stamp but stamped directly on the paper. I used Glossy Accents to highlight the Paris time. I knew it was supposed to dry clear but for some reason I was uncomfortable with the way this was going to turn out so I made the one above. After things dried I finished it and then added the embellishments and background paper.

I think I like the one on the bottom better, what do you all think? Let me know.

Another nephew's birthday another slider card

I made another slider card for another nephew, this one is a bit older and is a real fan of Rock Band/Guitar Hero type games his Play Station. The sentiment stamp is from Inque and the rest are from Delta. The patterned Rock King paper is from DCWV.

Wedding Card

This is only the second wedding card I've ever made. I find some subjects/themes easy to make cards for; others I find difficult. This was on the difficult side for me. I had seen a few ideas recently using mostly white on white with Cuttlebug embossing folders so I used them as my inspiration. The edge of the card is cut with a Fiskars border punch. I added the lace, twin hearts and cake sticker as embellishments.

Hope the new bride and groom like it. If they aren't crazy about it I think they'll like what's inside...a gift card for Target. This way they can pick exactly what they want.
